A new cutting and grinding tool system now available from SafehouseSafety Tools which will revolutionise pipework and structural steelwork cutting and grinding in hazardous areas.

The tools are based on the proven technology which has already seen the successful introduction of spark-free, heat-free grinding tools to the oil and gas industry over the past eight years.

Due to demand from the Production and Drilling communities for spark-free cutting equipment, an intensive research and development programme was launched and hand-held tools and robotic systems are now available in the UKCS.

The tools use pneumatic angle grinders rotating at 800 rpm and a 5mm cutting disc or a 10mm weld seam grinding disc.

The tools are efficient and have many HSE benefits such as low vibration and noise levels.

The tools are certified for cold work in zones 1 and 2. (DNV-2007-OSL-ATEX-3195)
